How Pre-Sloped Drains Improve Water Flow
Collecting surface water is only half the job. Getting that water to actually flow away depends on something most installers still do by hand: cutting a fall into the sub-base.

What a pre-sloped channel actually does
A standard channel drain has a flat internal base; any fall has to come from how it's bedded and levelled on site. Get the gradient wrong, or inconsistent along the run, and you end up with standing water where it should be draining away.
A pre-sloped system moves that gradient into the product itself. Each channel section is manufactured at a different internal depth, so laying them end to end in sequence creates a continuous fall — no cutting, no packing, no guesswork on site.
How the Base Series sloped set is built
Our sloped set covers a 13m run, built from 1m sections ranging from H80 up to H200. For longer runs, additional sections can be added to extend the system as required.
Each channel sits fractionally deeper than the last and has a 1% integrated fall across the full run. Lay the sections in order, and the gradient is already built into the system, making installation quick and straightforward.
If you don't need a fall, a level path, a flush threshold, anywhere the ground is already doing the work — the same channel is available in a Neutral (no-slope) version.
Neutral sections aren't just for level runs on their own, either: they can be used to extend a sloped run beyond the standard 13m set, adding length at a constant depth without altering the fall you've already built in. This lets you match the channel to the project run length, rather than the project to the product.
Why it matters on the site

Faster to lay than concrete. Lighter to handle, section by section, without the cure time or formwork a concrete-formed fall demands.

Corners without extra fittings. A built-in 90-degree corner connection lets you redirect a run cleanly, without sourcing a separate corner unit.
(Grates and load rating are a separate choice from the channel itself — several options available, from classes A15 to C250, so the same sloped body suits both pedestrian and vehicular areas).

Sloped channel drains are designed for applications where water needs to travel a distance reliably. This could be driveways with a shallow overall gradient, patios that need water carried to one collection point, and paths where standing water is a slip risk as much as a drainage failure.
