Taking Teamwork to New Heights

Taking Teamwork to New Heights

Six members of our UK stormwater team recently took on Ben Nevis, the highest peak in Britain, as part of one of our team events.

The climb formed part of our annual anniversary event, which brings colleagues together each year to reflect on the progress we’ve made, discuss plans for the year ahead, and strengthen the relationships across our growing UK team.

The Climb

Ben Nevis stands at 1,345 metres (4,413 feet) above sea level in the Scottish Highlands, near Fort William. The route covered approximately 16 km, with around 1,300 metres of ascent.

Trip summary:

  • Summit height: 1,345 m
  • Distance: 16 km
  • Temperature: 5°C
  • Winds: 40 mph (65 km/h)
  • Track time: 10 hours

The team faced sustained winds of 65–70 km/h and heavy rain for much of the route, making it a demanding ten-hour challenge.

Team Focus

Events like this are an important part of bringing our growing UK team together. They give colleagues from different areas of the business the opportunity to work together outside their usual roles, strengthen communication and build the relationships that support us day to day.

That team connection also translates directly into how we work with customers and partners, from quoting and technical support through to project delivery and customer service.

As Vodaland UK continues to grow, we remain focused on building a strong, knowledgeable and connected team. Whether we’re tackling a mountain, solving a technical drainage challenge or working to meet a demanding project deadline, our approach remains the same: preparation, teamwork and seeing things through.

A challenging climb, a strong team, and plenty more to come.
